8 years in INDUSTRY city
Eight years ago today I moved my Lola Star production & design studio from red hook to Industry City! The Lola Star Studio at IC is where I design & we hand print all of the merchandise we sell at my shops! I found these photos of my move, from the day our pink unicorn arrived in Sunset Park! When we moved in, It was a pretty nondescript industrial building with cool Grafiti on the first floor. But, over the past 8 years, my building has evolved into an incredible artist & business community with a food hall, mini golf course, Japanese Village, Yurt & more!
It has been endlessly inspiring to see the fabulous world that can evolve out of creativity, inspired design and the right kind of development. One that builds community, an inclusive environment & appreciates the value of creative small businesses.
